I’ve been lucky enough to explore a lot of this big ol’ planet, so to celebrate Earth Day I wanted to share some of my favourite natural places around the globe, in no particular order.
Turkey, Pamukale
Although it looks like snow, the terraces of Pamukale are made of travertine stone, which is created by built up minerals from thermal hot springs. Splashing in these natural pools is both fun and good for your skin!
Australia, Great Barrier Reef
One of the 7 wonders of the natural world, the Great Barrier Reef is the most beautiful collection colourful fish and aquatic plants that nature has to offer.
Netherlands, Lisse
Is there anything better than spending the day eating cheese and wading through the colourful flower fields of the Netherlands? Nee (That’s no in dutch).
Mexico, Tulum
I don’t remember much of Mexico, but luckily I do remember the Mayan Ruins next to the gorgeous white sand beaches in Tulum, Mexico.
Australia, Uluru
Uluru is an impressive sandstone formation in the heart of the Red Centre desert. The closest town is 450km away, which creates an eery feeling of total isolation.
Thailand, Ko Phi Phi
Accessible only by boat, Ko Phi Phi Island is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Any backpackers want to move here with me to start a tribe? Just kidding, that’s the plot of The Beach. 😉
Australia, Tasmania
Tasmania is home to some of the cleanest air and bluest water. Exploring Tasmania’s sea caves and admiring the dolerite rock formations is a must-do for every nature lover.
Turkey, Göreme
Staying in a city built almost entirely out of caves and “fairy chimneys,” is an amazing experience in of itself, but getting to fly in a hot air balloon over this unique landscape during sunrise is an experience I won’t ever forget.
Australia, Gold Coast
This year I will be celebrating Earth Day in the Gold Coast, surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
Where will you be celebrating Earth Day? Tell me in the comments below.
