Is there a happier street in all of Brisbane than Eat Street? I really don’t think so.
For those of you who have never heard of Eat Street, let me fill you in. While not technically a street, and set in an old container wharf, Eat Street is now a huge outdoor market filled with the most delicious international cuisines, craft beers, little shops and live performers. It is a mecca for anyone who remotely enjoys food.
If you are new to Eat Street, the endless options of food can be intimidating. To help you out I’ve put together a list of a few of my favourite vendors to get you started:
Michael’s Dumplings
I always start the night off at Michael’s Dumplings. Not only do they have the tastiest dumplings, in my opinion, they also offer the most delicious gluten free dumplings!
Shuck It
Another favourite, to start the night off right with, is oysters from Shuck It. These are some of the freshest oysters you will ever eat. My favourite? The cooked Mornay oysters. Tastes like Mac and Cheese!
Phunky Dory
Phunky Dory have the self proclaimed “best chips in the universe”, and I have to say… I don’t disagree when it comes to the gluten free sweet potato chips. Don’t forget to dip them in garlic aioli sauce… delish!
Hierba Santa
When you’re getting thirsty head over to Hierba Santa for some organic iced tea. I usually get the 1L cup for $7 because you can refill it for $5. How do I drink 2 litres of tea in one evening? I ask myself the same question every time. It’s a mystery!
Okonomi House
Japanese pizza is probably my favourite discovery at Eat Street. This untraditional pizza is a Japanese pancake made up of cabbage, pork belly, cheese and a bunch of other delicious ingredients. Okonomi House is extremely popular and can have long wait times, so arrive early and order before the rush.
The Chocolate Fountain
Stay away from this stall if you don’t absolutely love chocolate. With 3 different chocolate fondue fountains to choose from, this stall will keep all your chocolate cravings satisfied.
The endless options of food may seem overwhelming at first, but you’ll soon realize that you really can’t go wrong. No matter what you choose to eat, all of your senses will be satisfied at Eat Street!
Have you been to Eat Street? Tell me about it in the comments below.
I’ve been there!!! My favourite are the Oysters Kilpatrick! Will have to try the dumplings and chips next time. Thanks!

I haven’t been to Eat Street, but it very much reminds me of Borough Market in London which offers similarly delicious treats.

I’ve only been to Brisbane once and it was on a school trip, so it was very structured and I did not get to explore as much as I would like, but I absolutely fell in love with it anyway! I need to go back and eat my way down Eat Street though!

I am such an eat street kind of person, that I cannot even tell you how excited i am to go here already. I love the vibe of such places, which have so many different cuisines to offer and there is so much culture to see, just not the food! Loved the post.
